Bar Furniture: Creating the Perfect Layout Part 1

Aside from exquisite food and drinks and an ideal service to match, a bar's layout is also another major determinant of the success of the business. You may have all the expensive bar stools and the most elegant pieces of furniture but without the right kind of layout, all of these are futile.

For this reason, it is imperative for every owner to be able to layout the bar in such a way that will look aesthetically appealing to customers.

Some tips on how to create the perfect bar layout:

1. Ensure efficient flow patterns. Arrange the bar tables, chairs and furniture in such a way that the flow pattern will allow for a good flow of traffic among customers and staff. Creating the right layout ensures competent service from your crew, which is also another factor for a bar's success.

2. Give ample space between bar furniture. For example, an 18-inch space between chairs is necessary to make sure that customers do not bump into each other.

As for the bar stools, leave 12 inches of space between the counter and the stools. Have an allowance of 30 inches from the center of one stool to another. This will allow customers to have the luxury to swivel around, cross their legs and sit comfortably.

3. Have different kinds of table sizes and seating arrangements. This will not only create a visually interesting space but will also give proper seating for different numbers of people.

Creating the perfect layout for your bar is not that hard as long as you know the basic tips to follow. Just keep in mind that when designing the layout of your bar, the needs of your customer should always be your most important consideration.
